Student Travel Grants

STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS

A limited number of Student Travel Grants (STG) are awarded by IEEE ComSoc and IFIP.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The applicant must be the author or a co‐author of paper/poster/application accepted for publication at NOMS 2016.
  • The applicant must be full-time student registered toward a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in computer science, engineering or related field in a college or university when submitting his/her application.
  • The applicant must have registered for the conference at the time of application and must attend the conference to present the paper.
  • To be eligible for IEEE ComSoc-awarded grants, the applicant must be a Student Member of IEEE ComSoc (bear in mind that being IEEE Student Member alone does not make an applicant eligible). Should the applicant not to be an IEEE ComSoc Student Member, he/she can still apply for IFIP-awarded grants.
 
Application Procedure

The applicant should send an application containing:
  • name, contact information and country;
  • institution, academic program (B.Sc., M.Sc or Ph.D) he/she is currently attending;
  • paper ID, title and type (paper/poster/application);
  • a letter that briefly summarizes the applicant's current research interests and accomplishments;
  • a supporting letter from the advisor and his/her contact information;
  • IEEE number if the applicant is a student member of IEEE Comsoc.

Applications should be submitted by 29 February 2016 via e-mail to the Student Travel Grant Chair Luciano Paschoal Gaspary (paschoal@inf.ufrgs.br).
The Student Travel Grant Committee will notify applicants about award decisions by 14 March.
